The convenience of a handheld pc.<\/h4>\n

Ruggtek RP 550 is not a smartphone, neither a laptop nor a tablet: it is, in fact, a handheld pc.
\nThese devices, as the name suggests, are designed precisely to fit on the palm of a hand<\/em> and are therefore very handy and light<\/p>\n

\nA handheld has a size between 12 and 15 centimetres in length, between 8 and 10 in width and manages to keep the weight very low, never exceeding 200 grams. It is therefore slightly heavier than a smartphone, but this is because it has to cope with much more powerful and complex hardware.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The handheld, like a laptop, has an internal rechargeable battery that allows it to operate for several hours in complete autonomy, without therefore necessarily having to remain connected to the power supply.
\nIt should be clarified that the autonomy is not that of a commercial smartphone: the internal components of a palmtop, in fact, as well as the installed operating system – Windows – are more energy-consuming than that mounted on a smartphone, so a palmtop battery hardly comes to last five days. If we talk about autonomy, we must think of a handheld as a small laptop, capable of processing many more calculations than a smartphone but at the same time, due to all these procedures, the battery life is less than that of the smartphone.<\/p>\n

\nOptionally it is also equipped with a pen, very useful in operations that can be difficult using just a finger, such as taking notes or clicking the Windows icons.<\/p>\n

\nThey are devices designed to perform operations equivalent to an office computer.
\nThey have the convenience of a desktop system in a smartphone and run from a place that is not the office at full speed, without having the clutter of larger devices such as a laptop or a computer with monitor.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

These devices, called Rugged, are specially made with reinforced shell and components capable of resisting heavy impacts and falls even from rather high heights. In addition, they maintain external inputs that are not found in classic smartphones, such as the USB port and the barcode reader.

Ruggtek RP 550 is a new generation palmtop capable of offering the convenience of a smartphone and Windows 10 software power.<\/p>\n

\nThe device has been designed following the new 4.0 Industry standards, which therefore combine design with technological innovation and, above all, with a high resistance to shocks, falls, changes in temperature, humidity and water.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The display, a 5.5-inch capacitive multi-touch display, is designed using the patented Gorilla Glass<\/em>, in order to guarantee extreme brightness the screen – which reaches up to 500 Nit – even in direct sunlight, keeping the definition unaltered also thanks to IPS technology, and above all it resists scratches and falls in order to increase its duration over time.<\/p>\n

The quality and brightness are also allowed by the high resolution of the device screen, 1080 x 1920p Full HD<\/em> which therefore allows you to view high quality photos and important documents, a determining factor in a handheld device designed for work.<\/p>\n

\nThere is also a range of ports and connectivity in line with the times: Ruggtek RP 550 is equipped with both 1D and 2D barcode reader, 4G LTE connectivity, Wireless Dual-Band, Bluetooth and also has integrated GPS. There is also a USB 3.0 port for fast import and export of files on sticks and external media, as well as the possibility of expanding the 64GB memory using the Micro SD slot.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

To conclude the hardware, the CPU, an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 of about 2 GHz combined with 4GB of RAM memory, which therefore allows the Operating System and all installed programs to run without jamming or other problems of any kind.

The convenience of Windows 10 at hand.<\/h4>\n

Despite having such a small size, Ruggtek RP 550 is not a smartphone, but a full-fledged computer. It doesn\u2019t feature Android (present on RPA 550, where “A” stands for Android) nor the now abandoned Windows 10 Mobile. This palmtop features the full desktop version of Windows 10, in its most powerful variant Windows 10 Professional.<\/p>\n

An OS therefore more stable, mature and performing than any Operating System for mobile devices, which gives the advantage of having all the optimized and better functioning programs for desktop devices literally at hand. In addition, one of the strengths of Windows 10 is the ability to choose between desktop and tablet mode<\/em>, the latter more suitable for handhelds because it increases the size of the icons allowing users to touch them with their fingers without inadvertently pressing an undesired icon.<\/p>\n

Ruggtek RP 550 is a handheld device, and therefore it is not designed nor does it have the power to run very complex programs such as AutoCAD or the Adobe Suite inside it: for that, please refer to specific products, such as Rugged tablets and laptops, which, however, are more bulky. A Rugged palmtop is designed to carry out organization operations without any problems.<\/p>\n

Windows 10 Pro allows you to install any type of program, both from Microsoft Store and from third parties, so you can choose any type of agenda, notes, cloud and email management provider. For example, with Microsoft One Note you can quickly take notes, either by writing them \u201cby hand\u201d with the pen or with your finger, and then synchronizing them immediately on OneDrive, the cloud service of the Redmond company, on all other devices connected to the same account.<\/p>\n

And, always using OneDrive, from the office it is possible to upload PDFs with projects and documents to be brought to the construction site without printing them, with the risk that they will be ruined. Projects that can be integrated with photographs and other details directly from the construction site.

\nIl dispositivo riesce a garantire queste caratteristiche non rinunciando ad un hardware di tutto rispetto e all\u2019efficienza di Windows 10 Pro.<\/p>\n

La comodit\u00e0 di un palmare.<\/h4>\n

Ruggtek RP 550 non \u00e8 uno smartphone, n\u00e9 un laptop n\u00e9 un tablet: \u00e8, infatti, un palmare.
\nQuesti dispositivi, come suggerisce il nome, sono progettati appunto per poter stare sul palmo della mano<\/em> e sono quindi molto maneggevoli e leggeri.<\/p>\n

\nUn palmare ha di solito una misura compresa tra i 12 e i 15 centimetri di lunghezza, gli 8 e i 10 di larghezza e riesce a mantenere il peso molto contenuto, non superando mai i 200 grammi. \u00c8 quindi leggermente pi\u00f9 pesante di uno smartphone, ma questo perch\u00e9 deve far fronte a un hardware ben pi\u00f9 potente e complesso.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Il palmare, come un computer portatile, ha una batteria interna ricaricabile che gli consente di funzionare diverse ore in completa autonomia, senza quindi dover necessariamente rimanere collegato alla presa di corrente.
\nVa chiarito che l\u2019autonomia non \u00e8 quella di uno smartphone commerciale: le componenti interne di un palmare, infatti, cos\u00ec come il sistema operativo installato \u2013 Windows \u2013 sono decisamente pi\u00f9 energivori rispetto a quanto montato su uno smartphone, per cui un palmare difficilmente arriva a durare cinque giorni. \nSono dispositivi nati per svolgere operazioni equivalenti ad un computer da ufficio.
\nAvere la comodit\u00e0 di un sistema desktop in uno smartphone ed eseguire dal cantiere o, comunque, da un luogo di lavoro gravoso che non \u00e8 il semplice ufficio operazioni in tutta velocit\u00e0, senza avere l\u2019ingombro di device pi\u00f9 grandi come il portatile o un computer con monitor.\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Questi dispositivi, denominati PDA Rugged, vengono realizzati appositamente con scocca e componenti rinforzata in grado di resistere a urti e cadute pesanti anche da altezze piuttosto elevate. A concludere la dotazione di Hardware la CPU, una Intel Atom x5-Z8350 da circa 2 GHz combinata a 4GB di memoria RAM, che quindi consente al Sistema Operativo e a tutti i programmi installati di girare senza impuntamenti o altri problemi di sorta.<\/p>\n

La comodit\u00e0 di Windows 10 su una mano.<\/h4>\n

Pur avendo una dimensione cos\u00ec ridotta, il Ruggtek RP 550 non \u00e8 uno smartphone, ma un computer a tutti gli effetti. Su di lui non \u00e8 infatti montato Android (presente sul suo cugino RPA 550, dove appunto \u201cA\u201d sta per Android) n\u00e9 l\u2019ormai abbandonato Windows 10 Mobile. Su questo palmare \u00e8 presente la versione desktop completa di Windows 10, tra l\u2019altro nella sua variante pi\u00f9 performante Windows 10 Professional.<\/p>\n

Un OS quindi pi\u00f9 stabile, maturo e performante di qualsiasi Sistema Operativo per dispositivi mobili, che d\u00e0 il vantaggio di avere in una mano tutti i programmi ottimizzati e meglio funzionanti per dispositivi desktop. Inoltre, uno dei punti di forza di Windows 10 \u00e8 la possibilit\u00e0 di scegliere tra modalit\u00e0 desktop e tablet<\/em>, quest\u2019ultima pi\u00f9 indicata per il palmare perch\u00e9 aumenta le dimensioni delle icone permettendo all\u2019utente di toccarle con il dito senza premere involontariamente un\u2019icona che non desidera.<\/p>\n

Ruggtek RP 550 \u00e8 un palmare, e non \u00e8 quindi pensato n\u00e9 ha la potenza per far girare al suo interno programmi molto complessi come AutoCAD o la Suite di Adobe: per quello si rimanda a prodotti specifici, come i tablet e i laptop Rugged, che per\u00f2 sono pi\u00f9 ingombranti. Un Palmare Rugged \u00e8 pi\u00f9 pensato per svolgere senza problematiche di sorta operazioni di organizzazione.<\/p>\n

Windows 10 Pro permette di installare ogni tipo di programma, sia dal Microsoft Store sia da terze parti, per cui \u00e8 possibile scegliere qualsiasi tipo di provider agenda, note, cloud e gestione delle e-mail. Per esempio, con One Note di Microsoft si possono prendere velocemente degli appunti, sia scrivendoli \u201ca mano\u201d con lo stilo sia con il dito, per poi sincronizzarli in maniera immediata su OneDrive, il servizio cloud dell\u2019azienda di Redmond, su tutti gli altri dispositivi connessi al medesimo account.<\/p>\n

E, sempre sfruttando OneDrive, dall\u2019ufficio \u00e8 possibile caricare i PDF con progetti e documenti da portarsi in cantiere senza stamparli, con rischio che si rovinino.
